ouRoute – Citizen-Cultural Heritage: The start of the research activities!

The consortium is set, the tools defined and the adventure has started! ouRoute is marching through the first phases of implementation, and the hype has never been higher!

The partnership, under the guidance of WP1 Leader, CESIE, is embarking in an extensive research activity to reveal the context of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Social Inclusion. For this, a wide transnational network of partners has been motivated and will operate by implementing Questionnaires, Interviews and Focus groups.

In specific, the school partners of the project (-AE Dr. Francisco Sanches in collaboration with Casa do Professor in Portugal IES FELIPE DE BORBON in Spain Istituto Alessandro Volta in Italy), have started gathering responses in extensive questionnaires that will valorise the voice and the opinions of students, teachers and school leaders/managers.

At the same time, the municipality partners of the project, Câmara Municipal de Braga (Portugal), Ayuntamento de Ceutí (Spain), and Comune di Palermo (Italy), are working extensively to identify local stakeholders whose input will majorly define the results of the research on Cultural Heritage, and Old&New Arts&Crafts.

But this is not a common research process. You know why? Because in the next phase, students will have access to training and will lead the process, mapping their local old and new arts and crafts all by themselves! ouRoute builds upon a constructivist approach and follows a role model scheme, in which students from various background and disabilities will be included, engaged and progressively empowered to become ambassadors of the ouRoute methods. Not only they will lead the activities, they will also  engage their peer students which ones they will personally train in peer sessions!

We can’t wait to see the amazing results of the future…
